Rest Stop was mentored by Sky Comedy Commissioning Editor, Saskia Schuster who has executive produced a number of shows including YONDERLAND (Sky 1)  and LITTLE CRACKERS (Sky 1) and stars Ben Willbond (HORRIBLE HISTORIES, THE THICK OF IT) in the lead role. 

Kate directed REST STOP and co-wrote the script with Canadian comedian Monica Heisey, Editor-at-Large of BROADLY and debut novel I Can’t Believe It’s Not Better, came out in Spring 2015 and has been featured in the New Yorker and recommended by Lena Dunham (Girls). 

Rest Stop launched online in April 2016 with the Londonist. It went onto to be featured by Aint It Cool News, The British Comedy Guide, Directors Notes, ImWithGeek, Raindance and Vimeo StaffPicks. It racked up over 23K views on it's first day day online. 

 

 

Rest Stop premiered  at the Oscar & BAFTA-qualifying 9TH FLICKERS RHODE ISLAND INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL it won the GRAND PRIZE for BEST COMEDY and was nominated for OSCAR-QUALIFYING prize of BEST SHORT FILM. It played on their Opening Night, "Flickers' Road to the Oscars®",” a signature theme for the Festival. Some of the best short films that the 2015 festival has to offer are showcased.

Rest Stop has gone on compete internationally at festivals worldwide including the BAFTA-qualifying AESTHETICA SHORT FILM FESTIVAL and CAMBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, CUCALORUS, voted "One of the 25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World" by MovieMaker Magazine and UNDERWIRE where Kate was nominated for BEST DIRECTOR.

REST STOP was made on the LOCO LONDON COMEDY FILM FESTIVAL with SKY COMEDY mentoring scheme, which selected three emerging comedy filmmakers to participate in a year-long programme with Sky Comedy's commissioning team, supported by CREATIVE SKILLSET.
