Last night before beginning our festival run we had our private screening for REST STOP at Warner Brothers De Lane Lea.
It was a chance for everyone who had worked on the film to come watch it on the big screen and for friends and industry see what we'd been locked away working on. The night was a great success and we packed out all three screenings. The film was introduced by our mentors Jonathan Wakeham and Saskia Schuster.
Rest Stop was made on a year-long mentor scheme with LOCO London Comedy Film Festival with Sky Comedy, in which three emerging comedy filmmakers were mentored on a film project and offered advice by comedy industry experts. Rest Stop was mentored by Sky Comedy Commissioning Editor Saskia Schuster, who has executive produced a number of shows including Yonderland (Sky 1) and Little Crackers (Sky 1). Rest Stop stars Ben Willbond (Horrible Histories, The Thick of It) in the lead role.
Photos from the event below, my co-writer Monica Heisey was stuck in Toronto so we have used the magic of photoshop to put her in the pictures. It's like she was really there.
